My Indiana Girls

Here is a summary of pictures from when Kali and I went to Indiana in October.  We always have so much fun with Tif and Josh and their little family.  These girls are so darn cute and it is really fun to go and spoil them for a few days while we are there.  We made and decorated sugar cookies, practiced trick-or-treating, took great naps after our brutal workout at aerobics and painted tiny toenails.  If I only lived closer so I could spoil constantly.  Thanks Tif and Josh for a wonderful few days.  We love ya all!!

This girl makes me real proud!!
Check it off your bucket list Juli - You accomplished it!
Mile 26.2...What a champ..She ran the entire race!!

Mom's marathon runner - JuliFern

She's hanging in there...Mile 23
Go Juli!! - This was mile 20
This is the first point of contact we made with Juli at her marathon.  After all the hills and out of the monstrous canyon....Mile 14
This is a now and then picture of Juli...Isn't she cute!!  She is trying real hard to love life!

This girl makes us so proud.  She accomplishes the things we all dream of accomplishing but because she works hard and is diligent she is successful.  What a great example to all of us!!  We are so proud of you Fern!

Summer Catch up!! Finally!!!

I have so much catching up to do that I am not sure I will ever get there.  However, I felt like I needed to get started somewhere.  It has been a wonderful, very busy summer.  We have enjoyed several fun-filled trips to Seattle (Thanks Tif and Josh), to 3 Seattle Mariners games (ask me if I even knew who Ichiro was prior to this)  Now I am a fan of his on facebook and we often have to do the Ichiro chants with Alayna and Madelyn.  Memories!!  I love it!!  We have been blessed with a beautiful new granddaughter, Moira Elizabeth, and found out we are getting a new little grandson in January.  Life is good.  We are so blessed and count our blessing each and every day.  Tif and Josh along with the girls are back and settled in Indiana continuing their efforts in Josh getting his Masters degree very soon.  Coby and Steph along with Alayna are still in Sandy beginning Coby's third year of medical school and are gearing up for our new grandson.  Preston decided he has had enough of his mother monitoring his life and moved out. We miss him tons but my grocery bill has certainly decreased (especially since there are no more storage room raids at midnight..haha)  Juli has a rigorous semester at school and just applied for nursing school.  Wouldn't she make a great nurse!!  My babe, Kali, has started the best year of school yet.  She has done better this year than ever.  She has great teachers, great classes and great friends that are going to make this the best year ever.   Perry and I have canned and canned and canned all summer (along with lots of help from everyone else).  Our garden has had a very bountiful harvest (thanks to Kali fertiziling it every week)  and we have filled all our empty bottles from the storage room.  Woot!! for food storage.  Now we are gearing up for fall and Halloween (my favorite holiday - homemade donuts, chili and cute treat or treaters).  Now I will add a few pictures to share our summer ventures...Remember life is too short not to take advantage of every single minute.  Make each moment the best ever...and be happy!!

The Man in my Life

This was our second dance picture together.  I knew I wanted to marry him I just had to convince him he wanted to get married.  Worked!!  Love ya Pearsters!
This is our engagement picture....Check out my hair...Looks kinda fun but hey that was the style back then.
Pear always had a smile that would  catch my heart.  I always felt real special when he sent it my way!
This was our first dance picture together.  Wow, we look real young.
I always post backwards but oh well...it is still fun.  I just finished making a Heritage Makers book for Perry for a special occasion - not going to say when because then he'll know but it was really fun to make.  Lots and lots of work but worth it in the end.  Here are some cute, cute pictures of the man in my life when we were young and dating.....Oh the memories....Yes, he did have hair  at one point...but I actually prefer him the way he is now....Cuter than cute...Here is his Senior picture from high school.

Mom and Dad's baby girl

Here are some cute pictures of our baby! I just finished making a Heritage makers poster for Kali and we took some pictures of her by the temple. This is one of her favorite temples. She is getting old! Big 16!! Isn't she cute? What a good kid! Thanks Kali for being a good example, choosing the right always and reminding us that having fun is really important.
What a goofster! She had more pictures of her goofing off and with funny faces...

Fun

Can I just say I love this time of year. Every year out front on our pillars we have the same family of birds that return each year and build a nest, lay eggs and then we have baby birds for a few weeks. It is so fun! Anyone that comes to visit us gets dive bombed by the daddy and mama birds. Usually this happens in may and by now we are well on our way to baby birds. However, last year the neighbors cat came and knocked the nest down and destroyed the eggs. Needless to say I was beyond upset!! So this year they didn't return. Or so I thought....the other day Juli and Kali started yelling "Mom, Mom hurry come out front." Sure enough they came back....oh the joy, oh the fun!! We all love it and everyone is as bad as I am (even though they won't openly admit it) about checking on the birds several times each day. It is going to be fun to see the progress of this little family.....the neighbors cat just better stay away!! (or I am going to get REAL mad).

How do you count your riches??

Some parents tend to measure their success by their material riches.

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the purpose of showing his son how poor some people are.  They spent a few days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a poor family.  On the way home from the trip, the father asked his son, "How did you like the visit to this family?"  "  The son replied, "Oh yeah, it was great, Dad."  The father then asked, "So what did you learn from the trip?  Did you see how poor people can be?"

The son answered, "I saw that we have one dog and they have four.  We have a pool that only reaches to the middle of our lawn and they have a creek that has no end.  We have imported lanterns in our garden while they have the stars at night.  Our patio reaches to the front yard and we only have a small piece of land to live on while they have acres and acres.  We buy our food, but they grow theirs.  Thanks, Dad for showing me how poor we are."

I count my riches by having the gospel in my life and Jesus Christ as the central figure.  I am rich with a wonderful family who I love so much.  I consider my life richly blessed.

If you having a bad day just call....................

As a family we have unitedly decided that if we are having a bad day we just need a dose of these two cute babies and we feel a whole lot better.
If we have a spare moment we are either on the plane or in the car driving to see these two bits of JOY!
I told Perry we should have been grandparents first..........Wait it can't happen like that.......It's just easier being a grandparent because we can spoil them rotten and then send them back to mom and dad.
One of the funnest things we enjoy at the expense of the parents is when they go to leave and the grandbabies start bawling because they don't want to leave "grandma's" house.....Oh what joy they bring to us!!  Thanks  little darling girls for making our bad days all better!

Count Your Blessings Today!!

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep
YOU ARE RICHER THAN 75% OF THIS WORLD
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet and spare change in a dish someplace
YOU ARE AMONG 8% OF THE WORLD'S WEALTHY
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness
YOU ARE MORE BLESSED THAN THE MILLION WHO WILL NOT SURVIVE THIS WEEK
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation
YOU ARE AHEAD OF 500 MILLION PEOPLE IN THE WORLD
If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death
YOU ARE MORE BLESSED THAN 3 BILLION PEOPLE IN THE WORLD
If your parents are still alive and still married
YOU ARE VERY RARE, EVEN IN THE UNITED STATES
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful
YOU ARE BLESSED BECAUSE THE MAJORITY CAN, BUT MOST DO NOT.
If you can hold someones hand, hug them, or even touch them on the shoulder
YOU ARE BLESSED BECAUSE YOU CAN OFFER A HEALING TOUCH
If you can read this message
YOU ARE MORE BLESSED THAN 2 BILLION PEOPLE IN THE WORLD WHO CANNOT READ AT ALL.

Have a GREAT DAY!!  Count your blessings today!!  We truly are so blessed to live in this beautiful land, with the freedoms we have and our wonderful religion to help guide and direct our lives.  I am THANKFUL for today!

Last pictures of Kali's Happy 16th day.

Kali and her twin, Courtney.  I am so thankful that Kali has a great friend.  Friends can truly make all the difference in the world. Thanks Courtney for taking care of Kali and being so good to her.  You are a great friend!!
Kali teasing Alayna AGAIN!!  She is constantly teasing the nieces but for some reason they both love her the most.  Probably because she is so good to them and loves them so much. (and spoils them rotten)
Kali was born into our family 16 years ago today.  She is the Big "16".  I can't even believe it.  She is old enough to date.  I still call her my baby.   I always tell her she will be the baby of our family no matter how old she gets.  Everyone babies and protects and loves and cares for her just like the baby.  She is a great kid and a beautiful daughter of God.  I am so glad she is mine!!
Kali and Madeline.  She loves her nieces so much!!
Kali loves her baby nieces.  Her are the Ants (Aunts) at Disneyland with the new additions.  Aren't they all so cute??
.
Sister Cluff has been a huge impact on Kali's life.  She was Kali's YW's leader during her mia maid years.  She will never know what a difference she made in this young girl's life just by taking the time to listen to her and love and care about her.  Sis. Cluff, we love and miss you!!

My gorgeous girl - Kali in 8th grade.
Turning into a beautiful young woman. Kali in 6th grade.
Kali - First Grade Picture

Kali Lana Stewart - Happy 16th Birthday

First day of First grade with Juli. This is Kali showing off that cute grin she always has!
Here is my dancing girls.  For years Juli and Kali took dancing together.  They were on a competition team when we lived in Cedar City. They were so good and it was so fun!
Kali has always had a pet by her side.  This is Ebony. These two were side by side for the first 4 years of her life.  This little dog loved her so much.  She followed her everywhere.  This is Kali waiting for the kindergarten bus.  She is so cute and tiny.
Kali's special blessing day with Stephani her big sister.  The bottom picture is her cute daddy (look at how young he looks) along with big sis, Stephani at Disneyland riding Dumbo the elephant.
Kali and her favorite cousin, Kyle when they are both brand new babies.  In the above picture it is Juli and Kyson watching over the babies.

Preston's Birthday - #23 (Wow he is getting real old)

Going to Prom.  He looks so dang hot in this tux.  Even though his hair was dyed black - (yes, against mother's will) but at this point it didn't really matter.  He looks so handsome!!  and I loved him and still do.  Preston I am really thankful you are mine!!  I love ya tons and hope you have a super great birthday.
Here is my only Eagle Scout.  Thanks Preston for making it a priority for your mom if not for yourself.  I am real proud of you for being an Eagle Scout and honorable returned missionary.  I love it when you say family prayer in Portugese.
Preston loved this young man.  This is Tyler.  He worked with him for a year before his mission. Tyler taught Preston a lot of great lessons in life.  Preston was very good to this young man.  I ate lunch with them  when I was not working and I saw how good he took care of him.
Preston and Kali playing Spider on the swingset.  What a good big brother.  He is super protective of this little sister.  I feel real sorry when she turns 16 next week and starts dating.  I know that Perry and I won't have to do anything.  She has Preston looking out for her.  Watch out boys!!

Look at the cute school picture with the great smile and curly hair.

My Birthday Boy

Blue teeth and biker boy.  What more can I say.  Preston is a teaser and was always on a bike or a skateboard.  He was however, my best nintendo partner and still is to this day.  We conquered many Mario levels together.  Thanks for teaching me all the tricks.

Here is Preston and Juli.  He was always beat upon by the big sisters until he passed them both in size but he was extremely protective of his two little sisters.  He is still to this day, one protective big brother.  Loved those cute, cute blonde curls.

The top picture is one of my very favorite pictures in the world.  It is a picture of Stephani (5), Tifani (3) and Preston (1).  They are so stinkin' cute!!  I could kiss their faces!
Look at this pained look from the boys with the bows in their hair.  This is what you get when you live with a bunch of girls.  Stephani had decorated the boys with ribbons.  Look at how pained Preston looks even at this early age.  He had his toenails painted several times from his big sisters.  Dad never knew we just kept it a secret.  We kept Preston's shoes and socks on him when dad was home, otherwise, us girls would have been in a lot of trouble.  Sorry Preston!!  You sure had cute toes though!

The top picture is my cute son when he was one day old with mom.  He is a momma's boy.  (Love that song!)
Today is my only son's 23rd birthday, Preston James.  He was born at 11:54pm on April 23, 1986.  Dad had left the hospital to go get a cheeseburger when I started intense contractions.  We were holding off on pushing until dad got back from Burger King before Preston was born.  When Perry walked in we were all literally waiting for him. He was quickly steralized and within minutes Preston was born.  I remember the great big whoot!!  from daddy when this young man was born.  He was real excited because he finally had a son.  He was born with a smile on his face and has always had one since.
